桜の前にミツマタ

- Its bark is said to be of the highest quality as a raw material for Japanese paper and banknotes, that may be why it's called paperbush in English. As its branches always grow into three branches, it's named "Mitsumata" in Japanese. I enjoyed observing the blooming of these cute yellow flowers in the past one month while waiting for the cherry blossoms to bloom. I didn't see the sign of blooming at the nearest cherry blossom viewing spots a day before yet. Can I expect them to go in full bloom this weekend?
今年はなかなか桜が咲きませんね。桜を待っている間、金沢自然公園で「ミツマタ」の観察をしてました。枝が必ず3本に分かれて育つのが名前の由来だそうです。樹皮が和紙や紙幣の原料として最高品質らしく、それにちなんで（かどうかは知らんけど）英語名は「Paperbush」だって。
外側から咲いていくんですね。
中心の花が開く頃には、外側の花が白くなってる。
重みで下向きにぶら下がる感じになるから写真を撮るのが結構大変なのだった。そして、桜が咲く前にミツマタのシーズンが終わってしまいました。
最寄りの桜の名所は野島山展望台だと思うので、桜の様子をちょいちょい走って見に行ってますが、一昨日でまだこんな状態。
いや待てよ。日を改めて見てみたら、コレサクラノ木ジャナインジャン……ってことで、写真を追加。
週末を挟んでの月曜日はあいにくの雨模様なので、様子見は火曜日に順延。咲いてるかなー？
