TOWN MUSICIANS OF BREMEN
Have you read "Town Musicians of Bremen," that is one of the Grimm Fairy Tales? The animals started their journey heading to Bremen, but they never reached there, but the town has successfully used the tale as an attraction of tourists. And we are one of those attracted tourists. Well, the statue of the animals found in Riga, Latvia (a sister city of Bremen) looked more desperate, that is why I like it more.

「力を合わせれば、自分よりも強い相手に勝つことができる」的な教訓を教えてくれるグリム童話の『ブレーメンの音楽隊』をご存知ですか？

その物語の舞台として知られるBremen（ブレーメン）がわたし達の旅の第二の目的地でした。ちなみに、動物たちはたしかにBremenを目指して旅に出るのだけど、実際にはBremenへたどり着く前に幸せになってしまうので、物語にBremenは登場しないのに、Bremen市はちゃっかり音楽隊の銅像（1枚目の写真）を広場に設置したりなんかして観光客誘致に成功しています笑。

ところで去年の夏、ラトビアの首都Riga（リガ）でもブレーメンの音楽隊を見かけました（2枚目の写真）。姉妹都市らしいです。必死の表情が物語にも合ってる感じがして、こちらのほうが個人的にはお好みです。Bremenはこんだけ笑。
